It’s true! Storyfied is one year old today. Happy birthday, little shop … it’s been a good year. ❤
I’m not a fan of Autumn, because it means – cue ominous music – WINTER IS COMING. But it was particularly lovely this year, and I found myself happy about it despite myself.
My dad’s started drawing faces on the eggs that our chickens lay to differentiate them from the store-bought eggs. I feel like this says a lot about how awesome my dad is.
I’m a big fan of renfaires – in large part because it’s a chance to dress up! My current costume has evolved over the years, and while there’s always more to add, I’m pretty happy with its current state. I made the bodice, the under skirt was a thrift store find (I added the extra ruffle at the bottom), the overskirt was originally a 1970s prom dress, and the belt and bag I made from scraps of leather and an old leather vest. Fun times! I can’t wait for my next faire.
Part of being creative for me is gardening. Each year I like to try at least a few new plants, and it’s extra fun if they’re something I really like eating! Yes, I’m one of the rare people who really, really, REALLY like Brussels sprouts (especially when it involves lots of butter.)
So we’ll see if these little ones can survive my gardening skills. Fingers crossed!
Just a very quick post to show off my newest favorite thing – this sweet-as-pie string of 1950s style frocks. They hang on my bedroom door now, and I can’t help smile whenever I see them!
